#929U 2" mirror star diagonal for SCT, w/1.25" adapter and UHTC coatings
This 2 first surface mirror diagonal with UHTC (Ultra High Transmission Coated) optics is designed to be used on Meade 7 Maksutov-Cassegrain and 8 and 10 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. It is supplied as standard equipment with Meade 12, 14, and 16 Schmidt-Cassegrains. It can also be used on Celestron 5 through 14 SCTs. It is not designed to be used with the #1209 zero image shift electric focuser thats standard with Meade LX200GPS scopes. The #930U diagonal is designed to give 2 eyepiece capacity to these scopes.
The diagonals 2 UHTC mirror is made of enhanced aluminum, coated with multiple high reflectivity layers of titanium dioxide and silicon dioxide. These coatings increase the mirror reflectivity to 97%, compared with the 89% reflectivity of a standard aluminum mirror.
A safety stop at the bottom of the 2 eyepiece holder tube of the diagonal prevents 2 eyepieces or 2 Barlows from hitting the surface of the mirror. The mirror housing is precision-machined of two blocks of solid aluminum, rather than being simply a flimsy plastic housing or sheet metal stamping, as is the case with lesser diagonals.
A knurled ring attaches the diagonal securely to the 2 rear cell thread of the above catadioptric telescopes. Loosening the ring allows the diagonal to be tilted from side to side to the most comfortable observing position. A supplied 1.25 adapter slips into the 2 eyepiece holder tube of the diagonal to allow the use of 1.25 eyepieces. Knurled thumbscrews in the diagonal and the adapter hold both eyepieces and the 1.25 adapter securely in place.
